Certified Line Clearance Arborists
Did you know that you must be a Line Clearance Certified Arborist to come within 10 feet of any overhead utility line while trimming trees? Cutting Edge Tree Services offers paid ACRT Urban Forestry training to our employees so they may become Line Clearance Certified Arborists. ACRT is the leader in OSHA approved arborist training required for any tree worker to come within 10 feet of energized wires.
In order to enroll in the nationally recognized course, our employees are required by ACRT to have at least two years of experience as a tree trimmer, the ability to tie at least 4 basic knots used in tree rigging, knowledge of the ANSI Z133.1 Safety Standard, safe chainsaw techniques on the ground and in the tree, as well as proof of CPR and First Aid training.
In the program, CETS ground and aerial workers alike have the opportunity to learn to work safely in proximity to energized lines, tree growth patterns, how trees are damaged by environmental conditions vs. pruning, current ANSI Tree Trimming Safety Standards, basic tree identification criteria, correct use of a chainsaw, and aerial rescue protocol. For our clients, this means the added assurance that they have hired the most professional and responsible tree care company in the area, backed by an organization recognized for its excellence in the field.
