Tree work is dangerous, tree work around utilities even more so. That's why we have regulations in place to protect both arborists and the public we serve. Following a recognized standard of safety gives us our best management practices because tree work around utilities must always be done to make the community as safe as possible. Because someone has to do dangerous work to make life safer for the world at large, we do our best to make sure those people are given the tools to also do their hazardous job as safely as possible. Even when we use best management practices in combination with proper Personal Protective Equipment, the chance for accidental injury still exists, the rational for training Line Clearance Certified Arborists in CPR, First Aid and the latest Aerial Rescue methods available. Every Cutting Edge employee who enrolls in ACRT gets this opportunity to learn how to use tree climbing gear to ascend a large tree in seconds in order to rescue another arborist in the event they are unconscious and/or stuck high in the canopy.
